ARTIST STATEMENT

I love glass. I love melting glass. I love man­ip­ulat­ing glass. I love the smoothness of finished pieces and I love the never ending designs of shards I work with glass daily. I enjoy the end­less possibilities of what glass can do and what I can do to it. When starting a fused piece, the color, size, and slumped shape are all in mind or on paper. The design is not clear until all of the pieces are being prepared and cleaned. My designs are bright and bold. Commonly referred to as “modern retro”. I use geometric shapes when designing plates and bowls. I use dichroic glass much for jewelry pieces. I use layering tech­niques to produce thick unique designs through­out the layers. My current works include large platters and matching plates, bold, modern, and vibrant. The jewelry pieces are becoming more interesting every day.
