Kathryn graduated from Harvard with an honors degree in English Literature, and never dreamed she would end up designing jewelry. Several years ago, this artistic pursuit seemed to find her, and since then she has been avidly exploring the elements of design.
Kathryn prefers the colors and textures of natural gemstones, and enjoys designing with semiprecious stones such as turquoise, peridot, coral, onyx, and agate. She gravitates toward large, statement-making stones and chunky pieces, and likes to combine boldly colored gems with sterling silver and hints of gold into eminently wearable pieces that range from classically elegant to funky and fun. She typically derives inspiration from the stones themselves, and finds that they often tell her how best to present their natural beauty. Kathryn, a native of Omaha, travels to select art fairs in the Midwest and creates custom pieces upon request.
